Starting this week, Hoodline will be running some stories from Bay City News, a regional wire service that has provided reporting from around the Bay Area since 1979. Expect to see news about court activity, police and fire emergencies, government meetings, and other key topics.

A man died Tuesday of injuries he suffered in an attack last year, making the case a homicide, police said today.

William Evans, 56, died in the hospital of injuries from a November 18, 2016, attack in the 1100 block of Market Street (between 7th and 8th streets), police said.

Police identified the weapon used in the attack as a glass bottle, and identified the suspect only as a 30-year-old man. No arrest was reported as of this morning. —Sara Gaiser
