San Francisco police have responded to an incident this morning in which a person barricaded themselves and a gun was fired, police said on Twitter.

The incident was reported by police on Twitter at 10:42am on the 200 block of Turk Street.

City emergency officials are asking people to avoid the area of Turk and Jones streets while police work.

Update: SFMTA reports that the activity has cleared and Muni service has resumed.

SFPD shared this report of what happened:

At approximately 8:50am, San Francisco Police responded to the 200 block of Turk Street on the report of possible shots fired. The reporting party stated a round went through several walls inside an apartment building.

SFPD arrived on scene and located a female suspect, who immediately ran back into her apartment and barricaded herself. Crisis Intervention Trained (CIT) officers were at the scene communicating with the suspect, with additional resources responding to the scene to assist (Hostage Negotiation Team and Tactical Units). Officers were able to successfully negotiate the suspect's surrender, and she was taken into custody without incident just after 11:00am.

Tactical units cleared the rooms no other individuals were located. Additionally, no one was injured throughout the duration of this incident. The area is clear for vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
