Symphony For Families, Petting Zoo, Movie Night, And More Kid-Friendly EventsPhoto: San Francisco Symphony

This week's event round-up is sponsored by the San Francisco Symphony, which hosts its Music for Families: How to Build an Orchestra event on Saturday, March 11th.

A fun-filled afternoon for the whole family, the event will let kids learn what makes the heart of the Symphony beat, enjoy music inspired by Lemony Snicket and works featured in Harry Potter, and come on a musical adventure where families solve a whimsical, musical mystery. With audience participation and interaction with the musicians, learn about the symphony orchestra in new and fun ways.

Come early to collect stamps in your musical passport and enjoy lobby activities such as the instrument petting zoo, coloring areas, and the conductor photo station. Ticket holders receive free online materials to enhance musical discovery at home. Get your tickets here.

With clear skies in the forecast for San Francisco in the coming days, there are plenty of reasons to take the entire family out for great food, music, and fun.

From a performance by some of the best young talents in the city, to a free petting zoo and a hot air music festival at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Take a look at the list below for a round-up of upcoming kid-friendly activities the city has to offer.
