2-Alarm Fire Breaks Out At Page & Cole [Updated]Photos: Stephen Jackson/Hoodline

A two-alarm fire has broken out at a residential building at 1810 Page St., at Cole Street.

According to the SF Fire Department, firefighters responded to the scene at 5:36pm, with the fire going up to two alarms at 5:40pm.

So far, firefighters say there have been no injuries; it's unclear if anyone has been displaced by the fire. We'll continue to update this breaking story.

Update, 6:01pm: Eight fire engines are on the scene. The fire is on the building's second floor, and officials are asking locals to avoid the area.

Update, 6:05pm: The blaze has been quelled. Firefighters report that there have been no injuries, and no damage to adjacent buildings, aside from smoke. It's still unclear how many people may have been displaced.

Update, 6:24pm: Kevin Burke, the assistant chief for SFFD Division 2, said that the fire started just after 5pm, when workers were on the building's roof.

According to Burke, a piece of ignited material was dropped between 1810 Page and a neighboring building, and units were on-scene attempting to locate it. It was eventually found and put out.

The amount of displacement from the fire is not yet known. Residents will be granted access when the firefighters clear out, and "we'll be checking soon to see if they need assistance," Burke told us.

Update, 6:46pm: The fire was extinguished at 6:22pm. SFPD spokesperson Jonathan Baxter said that it damaged all three floors of 1810 Page, which is a condominium building, but firefighters kept it from spreading to other buildings.

Firefighters confirmed the lack of injuries, but said that one resident's cat has gone missing.
