The neighborhood has seen fewer reported incidents since our last Castro crime roundup. Included this time around are assaults, a hot prowl, and a four-vehicle accident involving an F-Market Muni.
All reports are listed in chronological order and come from the SFPD's daily crime recaps, unless otherwise noted.
Duboce Pepper Spray Assault
On April 12 at 1:50am, a 27-year-old man was attacked by three male suspects near Castro and Duboce. The first suspect used pepper spray on the victim while a second hit him. No words were exchanged and no items were stolen. The three suspects fled on foot, the victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and no arrests were made.
Historic Trolley In Multi-Vehicle Collision
Tipster Josh shared details on an incident near Church and Market on April 15:
"Historic trolley (Milan) brakes apparently fail and cause 4 vehicle smash up this morning at 930 at church and market. No injuries."
Josh provided a photo of the trolley, which appears to have rear-ended a dark SUV (pictured up top).
17th Street Hot Prowler Gets Away
Early in the morning between midnight and 2am on April 16, a woman, 53, heard her dog barking at the back of her house near Church and 17th. Hours later at 6am, she found that her laptops, tablet, speakers, purses, driver's licenses, credit cards, and checkbook had been stolen. No suspect was seen and no arrest was made.
Resident Fed Up After Man Defecates In Front Of Building
Also on April 16, a man defecated in front of a residential building at 10:32am. A resident, Jared, informed Hoodline about this in an email that was also addressed to Mayor Ed Lee and Supervisor Jeff Sheehy that contained video of the incident and the following message:
"Please see the attached video taken at my building in the Castro at 10:30 AM last Sunday. There is also a link to the video below.
Supervisor Sheehy, shame on you, that the homeless people have become so entitled that they can do this in broad daylight in your district.
Mayor Lee, shame on you that this happens in your city."

Bottle Assault, Robbery On Walter Street
On April 17th at 10:36pm, a 27-year-old man was approached from behind by two unknown suspects near Walter and 14th Streets. One of the suspects hit him with a bottle and demanded the victim's property. A second suspect then punched him and both suspects stole his cell phone before fleeing to an awaiting vehicle driven by a third suspect. No arrests were made.
