Here's the latest in crime and safety news from the SFPD's Tenderloin Station. All reports come directly from police, unless otherwise noted.

Pizza citation leads to protest

A senior citizen’s citation for eating a slice of pizza at a Muni stop at 7th and Market streets drew citywide attention last week. While it appears that the SFPD was targeting that specific Muni shelter because a stabbing had recently occurred there, there is no indication the man who was cited was involved in the stabbing in any way.

Outrage about the incident has escalated into action, and Vanishing SF is calling on San Franciscans to #LegalizePizza by eating pizza in a nearby Muni shelter today, Friday, April 7th. Just be sure to clean up after your pizza protest.
