Wine enthusiasts, perk up: a casual new wine bar has opened in the Mission. Called Zita Wine Bar, the new spot softly opened in December, but is gearing up for its grand opening celebration next week.

Besides the assortment of reds, whites, rosés and sparkling wines one might expect, Zita also offers a range of Italian-inspired bar bites, including bruschetta, pizzas, lasagna bolognese and more.

Owner Zita Shaker told us that she and her husband are very excited about the new location, which replaced coffee shop Sugarlump. "There is no [other] wine bar in this area," she said.

To check it out for yourself, stop by Zita Tuesdays through Sundays between 4-10pm—and if you can swing it, get there between 6-8pm, when all drinks, including bottles, are half off as the business gets going (through May).

To top it all off, Shaker informed us that Zita will host an opening party for the neighborhood next Friday, April 14th, from 7-10pm. The wine bar will be serving up complimentary appetizers, and all beverages will be offered at half price.
