Assistant Teacher Arrested In Connection With Bomb ThreatsPhotos: SFPD/Google Maps

After two bomb threats were made to LePort Montessori School at 50 Fell St in the Civic Center neighborhood on May 8th and 16th, Pablo Munoz—a 22-year-old assistant teacher at the school and resident of South San Francisco—has been arrested.

In both instances, the threats were left as voicemail messages, and SFPD issued an order for shelter-in-place.

A parent at the school, who wishes to stay anonymous, told us that "there are more than 150 pre-school students on that campus."

Although no detonating devices were found, the school was evacuated and closed for the remainder of the day as a precaution.

SFPD's Special Investigations Division led the investigation that identified Munoz as a suspect. He was located at the school and taken into custody without incident.

Munoz has now been booked into San Francisco County Jail on two counts of felony threats and two counts of misdemeanor false reporting of a bomb.

According to Greg Marick, vice president of operations at LePort Montessori, the arrest has left the "the entire school community...shocked and saddened."

"He worked with our after-school program and showed no signs that he was disgruntled or capable of doing something like this," Marick told us, who also noted that Munoz has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of his arrest.
