Next Wednesday, May 10 from 2pm to midnight, a film crew will be in the Upper Haight to film exterior shots for Beautiful Boy, Belgian director Felix Van Groeningen's adaptation of David Sheff's memoir.

The book chronicles the descent of Sheff's son Nic into methamphetamine addiction, and the family's struggle to save him. The film will star Steve Carell as David and Timothée Chalamet as Nic.

Filming in the Haight will commence the afternoon of the 10th along the 1400 block of Haight St., with "no parking" signs going up around noon. Parking will be interrupted on Haight St. between Masonic and Ashbury, and on Ashbury between Page and Waller, with wrap completed by the 11th at 3pm.

In addition, the stop for the outbound 7-Haight/Noriega bus will move from Haight and Masonic to Haight and Ashbury.
