Cole Valley's 'Bacon Bacon' Burglarized Early Sunday MorningPhotos: Alisa Scerrato/Hoodline

In the wee hours of Sunday morning, a thief broke into Cole Valley café Bacon Bacon (2015 Frederick St.) and stole six tablets, an iPhone, and the restaurant's cash register, owner Jim Angelus told Hoodline.

The burglar gained entry via the front door

We met up with Angelus today at the eatery, which is open for business. He said the thief gained entry by “jimmying the lock” and kicking the door in. According to security video, the burglar hauled the stolen items away in a large white canvas bag.

Angelus said he was on a family camping trip when employees alerted him to the break-in early Sunday morning.

He shared several still photos of the intruder with Hoodline, but said he's unable to release video footage because of the ongoing investigation. Authorities have been very responsive and helpful, he added.

We'll update this story as more information becomes available.

While we first heard about the burglary yesterday afternoon, thanks to tipster Ben S. for also alerting about the break-in.
