4-Story Mixed-Use Building Proposed For Former 'American Cyclery Too'

Last week, Elevation Architects presented initial renderings for a mixed-use development at 858 Stanyan St., the former site of the American Cyclery annex at the corner of Frederick St.

Elevation representative Jonathan Pearlman said the project is undergoing an environmental review by the SF Planning Department. After that, plans will be filed for approval with the Department of Building Inspection.

The proposed building would comprise a street-level retail storefront and three residential units—the highest density the property is zoned for, Pearlman said.

"It won't have that big an impact on the housing stock," Pearlman said. "That said, more housing is more housing!"

This is the second residential development proposed for the neighborhood in recent weeks; in mid-April we announced another proposed mixed-use development in the permitting process behind Cha Cha Cha (1801 Haight St.).
