Upper Haight Crime: Fulton St. Gun Robbery, Bacon Burgled, 4/20 Day Incidents, MorePhoto: Camden Avery/Hoodline

A month after our last Upper Haight crime summary, here's a look at several notable incidents investigated by officers at Park Station, which includes the Haight, as well as the eastern end of Golden Gate Park.

Chill Crowd At 4/20 Day, But Violent Incidents Follow

In the station's weekly newsletter, Park Station Officer Lily Prillinger wrote that despite a few incidents, the 4/20 Day celebration in Golden Gate Park "was peaceful and uneventful."

Police did respond to three violent incidents outside the park after the celebration was over, however: a non-life threatening stabbing at Haight and Central followed an altercation around 6:30pm; shots were fired at Central and Grove; and an individual was detained for public drunkenness at 7:35pm at Fell and Cole.

Also around 7:30pm, a woman leaving Milk Bar was followed, catcalled and punched three times in the head and neck by three unidentified men. Police believe surveillance video may have captured all or part of the incident and are investigating.

Bacon Bacon Burglarized

As we reported earlier this week, Cole Valley's Bacon Bacon (205 Frederick St.) suffered an overnight burglary of six computer tablets, an iPhone, and the cash box on the night of Saturday, April 29th.

Body Discovered In Golden Gate Park

As we reported last week, a body was found near the Big Rec Field in Golden Gate Park at Lincoln at 7th Avenue early on the morning of April 27th. The Medical Examiner's office has yet to release any information on the incident.

Police Nab Suspects In Fulton St. Gunpoint Robbery

At 11:20pm on April 23rd, a man was robbed at gunpoint at 1750 Fulton St. by two suspects in a sedan. Suspects stole a backpack and phone and drove west toward the Richmond, where two similar incidents occurred a short time later.

The car was picked up in the Central district later that night during a felony stop with six people inside, two of whom were positively identified by the victim.

As always, Park Station invites you to attend its monthly community meeting, which occurs on the second Tuesday of each month. The next meeting is on May 9 at 6pm in the community room at Park Station (1899 Waller St.).
