After an argument that escalated into a shooting in the SoMa neighborhood, a 31-year-old man has now died of his injuries, reported SFGate.

According to Bay City News, the victim is Carlo Tateo, an Oakland resident.

The argument occurred early on Sunday morning at 2am on the 1500 block of Folsom, between 10th and 11th streets. Tateo argued with a group of men, described by police as between 25 and 30 years old, and a shot was fired by a man in his late 20s.

Tateo was struck and later taken to San Francisco General Hospital. Police originally reported his injuries as non-life-threatening.

According to SFGate, Tateo died within hours of his injuries.

No arrests have been made.

Update, 4:31pm: A fundraiser has now been set up for Tateo's family, which includes his wife and a two-and-a-half daughter.

"He dedicated his life to helping the youth and bettering his community," wrote Michelle Del Toro, who set up the GoFundMe campaign, "working for after school programs, coaching high school football and soccer, [and] as an advisor, mentor and PE teacher at his alma mater, Skyline High School."
