A five-year-old child was abandoned near the San Francisco Zoo on Monday night, CBS 5 reported.

According to police, the child was dropped off when a car pulled up to the Zoo at the intersection of Great Highway and Sloat Boulevard around 8:30pm.

The area, near Ocean Beach, is usually windy and chilly at night. Last night, according to AccuWeather, lows hit 51 degrees.

The child was spotted by an ambulance that happened to be in the area. They stopped and helped the child, who was not injured.

Witnesses told CBS 5 that a woman was driving the car. A man was in the passenger's seat, and there may have been another child in the back.

Police are now looking for the driver and her passenger. Hoodline reached out to SFPD to find out if there were any further updates, and no information is available at this time.
