Milkbomb Ice Cream has opened its doors in Potrero Hill, just in time to help locals beat the heat. Located at 1717 17th St. in Potrero Hill, the new spot takes over the former Twirl and Dip space.

As we reported back in March, Milkbomb comes from proprietors Jan-Michael Manuel and Marion Valenzuela. The business offers a variety of classic and creative ice cream flavors (on its opening weekend, its featured flavors included taro, birthday cake, Thai tea, horchata and more), served in a cup, flavored cone, or inside a warm glazed donut.

Open since June 17th, Milkbomb Ice Cream has garnered rave reviews thus far, with a five-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp.

M M., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on June 19th, said: "The Most Disruptive Dessert concept to hit the streets of San Francisco! A Warm Glazed Donut filled ice cream sandwich. Warm one the outside and cold on the inside and delicious all over :)"

Yelper Vickie W. added: “Long lines, this place has a cool vibe. Outdoor seating and good for medium/large groups. Need to find street parking but overall, and I'm excited to try this place!”

And Antonia B. said: "We were excited for this to finally open in the former twirl and dip location. it is creative and fun, however, and a little gimmicky."

With a price rating of one dollar sign on Yelp, an outing to Milkbomb Ice Cream is estimated to cost less than $10 per person.
