New Japanese Restaurant Planned For Former 'Luna Rossa' LocationPhotos: Nikki Collister/Hoodline

The Outer Richmond may soon see a new Japanese restaurant in the space at 2221 Clement St., formerly occupied by Luna Rossa.

Although the exterior remains unchanged, a public notice in the window states that an application has been filed for a Type 41 ABC license, typically issued to restaurants serving beer and wine. As of May 31, the application is still pending.

The eatery's name wasn't posted on the notice, but according to DataSF, the address is registered to a California corporation doing business under the name Nobuyuki. Hoodline contacted the contractor assigned to the project, who confirmed that the restaurant will serve Japanese cuisine.

According to the contractor, Nobuyuki aims to open its doors by the end of June. We've reached out to Turner 2 Corporation, the owner listed on the application, for additional comment.
