A 45-year-old San Francisco resident has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Carl Holman in the Tenderloin last week, SFPD announced.

John Muhammed was arrested at the intersection of 3rd Street and Palou Avenue in Bayview by officers from SFPD's Gang Task Force and Bayview Station.

On June 23rd, Holman—a 43-year-old city resident—was shot on the unit block of Turk Street. When SFFD paramedics arrived on the scene at 5:05am, they discovered Holman lying on the ground with a gunshot wound.

Although he was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, Holman succumbed to his injuries.

Police did not reveal a motive or the cause behind the shooting.

According to SFPD, Muhammed has been booked into SF County Jail on three charges: felony murder, carrying a loaded firearm in a public place and being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm.

Although an arrest has been made, investigators are asking anyone with information on this case to contact the SFPD anonymously at (415)575-4444 or Text-a-Tip to Tip411 and begin the text message with SFPD.
