Here's a recap of notable crime reports handled by officers at Tenderloin Station in recent weeks. All reports come directly from SFPD, unless otherwise noted. 

Pringles burglar robs business at gunpoint

At 6:40pm on May 31st, a female suspect entered a business on the 500 block of Larkin Street (near Turk) and brandished a handgun. The suspect demanded property and the 32-year-old female victim fled the store. When the victim returned to the store, the suspect had fled with cans of chips. There have been no arrests.

Potentially explosive materials brought to Tenderloin Station

A resident transported potentially explosive materials to the Tenderloin Police Station at Eddy and Jones streets around 12:15pm on May 30th. As we reported earlier this week, nearby residents were asked to shelter in place for about an hour until the SFPD’s explosives disposal unit responded and handled the incident.

Man punched on O’Farrell Street

A man said to be in his twenties walked up to a 59-year-old man on the 500 block of O’Farrell Street (near Jones) around 5:30pm on May 29th. The suspect punched the victim and then fled on foot. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. 

Three-on-one assault leaves strips man of property

A 21-year-old man was near the intersection of 3rd and Market streets around 2:00am on May 28th when three men, thought to be in their early 20s, approached him. While one suspect held the victim, the other two stole his cellphone, pants and shoes. The victim reported the incident at the Tenderloin police station.

Hot prowl burglar enters through a bathroom window

Sometime between 11:00pm on May 23rd and 5:00am on May 24th, a 66-year-old woman’s apartment on the 600 block of O’Farrell Street (near Leavenworth) was burgled by an unknown suspect. The victim awoke in the morning and noticed an open bathroom window and discovered her laptop, purse, money and an empty suitcase were all missing. 

Five suspects assault man from behind

A 50-year-old man was assaulted from behind by five unknown suspects at 1:25am on May 20th near the intersection of Grove and Market streets. The suspects hit the victim and stole his money and hat before fleeing in an unknown direction. 

Unknown suspect punches and robs man

Around 1:30am on May 20th, a 43-year-old man was punched by another man on the 400 block of Eddy (near Leavenworth). The victim says his property was stolen, and he was taken to the hospital to treat non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect has not been identified. 

Man punched, robbed by three men

A 26-year-old man was walking near the intersection of Market and 8th streets around 3:45am on May 20th when three suspects approached him, punched him, stole money from his pockets and fled southbound on 8th Street. No arrests have been made.

Woman shot by one of four suspects

Just after 3:30am on May 21st, a 33-year-old woman walking on the 400 block of Turk Street (near Hyde) when she encountered four men. One suspect said to be in his twenties fired a gun multiple times, one of which struck the victim in the leg. The four suspects all fled on foot, while the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Tenderloin Station Captain Teresa Ewins holds monthly community meetings on 6pm on the last Tuesday of each month at 301 Eddy St. This month's meeting is set for June 27th.
