Here's a recap of reported crimes that have occurred since our last round up. Unless otherwise noted, all details come from SFPD reports. 

2-On-1 Pepper-spray Robbery

Around 9:00pm on June 29th, a 64-year-old man got into a verbal argument with two women, one in her sixties and one in her twenties. The older woman pepper-sprayed the man and the younger one stole his bag of laxatives before both suspects fled on foot.

Tenderloin Man Mugged For Electronics

A 34-year-old man was walking near the intersection of Larkin and Eddy streets around 11:45pm on June 29th when a man said to be in his early thirties approached from behind. The suspect forcibly stole the victim’s laptop and cellphone, punched him in the face and fled on foot.

Ukulele Player Attacked With Hammer

Around 6:30am on June 25th, a 27-year-old man was sitting near the intersection of O’Farrell and Polk Streets with a ukulele. A man said to be in his mid-twenties approached and started chatting about the instrument when another man, also said to be in his mid-twenties, attacked the victim with a hammer.

The first suspect stole the victim’s phone, backpack, money and ukulele, and both suspects fled on foot. The victim was treated for minor injuries at the hospital.

Man Intimidated Into Handing Over Phone

A 36-year-old man was waiting for a cab outside his hotel on the 400 block of Ellis street (near Jones) around 8:30pm on June 24th when a man said to be in his thirties approached and demanded the victim’s phone. The victim complied because he was scared and the suspect has not been identified. 

Suspect Arrested In Fatal Tenderloin Shooting

As we previously reported, 43-year-old San Francisco resident Carl Holman was found dead near the intersection of Turk and Taylor streets around 5:05am on June 23rd.

SFPD homicide investigators identified the suspect as 45-year-old San Francisco resident John Muhammed, and located him on June 25th near the intersection of 3rd Street and Palou Ave. Muhammed is now in San Francisco County Jail on felony murder charges, as well as for carrying a loaded firearm in a public place and being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm. 

Early-morning Mid-Market Purse Snatching

A 70-year-old woman was walking on Mason Street between Turk and Market around 6:00am on June 22nd when she was approached by a woman said to be in her twenties.

The suspect forcefully snatched the victim’s purse from her shoulder, fled on foot and has not been identified.

Tenderloin Carjacking, Assault

Around 12:15am on June 22nd, a 69-year-old man was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Leavenworth Street and Golden Gate Avenue when a man said to be in his early thirties stood in front of his vehicle. A second man, also said to be between 30 and 35 years old, opened the driver’s door and forced the victim out of the vehicle.

The suspect drove the vehicle westbound on Golden Gate Avenue. The first suspect stayed behind and assaulted the victim before fleeing on foot. Neither suspect has been arrested. 

Muggers Steal Cellphone, Wallet In Punch-And-Rob

A man said to be in his early twenties approached and punched a 26-year-old man near the intersection of Larkin and Eddy streets at 3:30am on June 19th.

The victim fell and the suspect stole his cellphone and wallet from his pocket and fled on foot. 

Three Robbers Strike Man With Gun

At 6:25pm on June 17th, a 59-year-old man was walking on Golden Gate Avenue between Jones and Taylor streets when he was attacked by three men said to be between 20 and 35 years old.

The suspects pushed the victim to the ground, assaulted him, hit him with a handgun and stole his money, watch, ring and glasses. None of the suspects have been identified.
