Early on the morning of July 15th, a 42-year-old woman in the Mission suffered life-threatening injuries after she was slashed by a woman wielding a box cutter.

The incident occurred at 2:15am on the 3400 block of 25th St. between Mission and Valencia Streets.

The confrontation began as the two women argued; as the disagreement escalated, the suspect—a 58-year-old woman—pulled out a box cutter and slashed the victim.

Witnesses held the suspect until police arrived and took her into custody. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, critically injured. No further information on her condition was available at this time.
