A new patisserie/cake shop and bakery, offering coffee, tea and more, has opened up shop in the neighborhood. Called 85°C Bakery Cafe, the new arrival is located at 9750 Bellaire Blvd. in Sharpstown.

Part of a chain of bakeries that originated in Taiwan, 85°C offers Asian-inspired treats like matcha red bean cake, red bean panna cotta, egg custard tarts, and red bean-coffee mochi bread. To drink, there are espresso drinks and frozen mango, taro, or strawberry slushes.

The new patisserie/cake shop has gotten off to a solid start thus far, drawing big lines in its opening days. It has a four-star rating out of 47 reviews on Yelp.

Vy T., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on July 10th, said: "I was so excited to know that 85 Degrees Bakery is finally here in Houston. I went on the soft opening day, and it definitely satisfied my expectations."

Yelper Natalie T. added: “I was one of many that experienced the long wait during their grand opening weekend, which is totally understandable."

And Kaylee N. said: "I honestly thought I was not a huge fan of Chinese/Asian style pastries, but just realized I am—I've just been going to the wrong places. 85ºC has the best Asian-style pastries."

Listed at one dollar sign on Yelp, you can expect to spend less than $10 per person on a visit to 85°C Bakery Cafe.

Head on over to check it out: 85°C Bakery Cafe is open Monday–Thursday from 7am–10pm, Friday and Saturday from 7am–midnight, and Sunday from 8am–10pm.
