Last night at 6:06pm, a 54-year-old man was stabbed outside J. Georgie's Donuts & Chinese Food at the corner of 16th and Folsom Streets.

Officers from Mission Station responded to the scene and took a 69-year-old suspect into custody; the victim was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The area was closed to the public for more than an hour as police investigated.

A subsequent investigation led SFPD to block off 16th Street between Folsom and Harrison for more than an hour. Muni lines 33, 22 and 55 were temporarily rerouted along 17th Street between Bryant St. and South Van Ness Ave. until the situation was resolved.

Before service resumed, many frustrated riders disembarked from buses that had pulled over. Residents of All Star Hotel were unable to return to their homes until police cleared the area.

Shortly after 8pm, SFMTA announced that police had cleared the scene and regular Muni routing would resume. No additional information has been released about the victim's condition.
