On July 14, 1790, French revolutionaries stormed the Bastille, a prison where tortured, miserable inmates dreamed of freedom.

Which makes it trés approprié that the weekend kicks off tomorrow with Bastille Day, a chance to throw off your chains and celebrate France's national holiday.

Pop-up artistes La Flamme are hosting a party tomorrow night at Forage Kitchen, and Michel's Bistro is serving a four-course prix fixe meal for $60 that includes a wine, cocktail or champange pairing.

Otherwise, we've got a robust roundup of low and no-cost events that will let you enjoy liberté, égalité and fraternité like a local.
