A 43-year-old man was injured after someone attempted to asphyxiate him during an aggravated assault on the 300 block of Ellis St. (between Jones and Taylor streets) in the Tenderloin. 

The incident took place on August 14th, at 11:44pm. Brandishing a knife, a 52-year-old man approached a 43-year-old man and then chased him down the street. The suspect eventually caught up with the victim and began to strangle him. 

Officers found the suspect and arrested him. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.
