Five people were involved in an attempted robbery that escalated into a knife slashing in Dolores Park yesterday.

The incident took place at 4:44pm when five suspects attempted to steal the victim's bike. In response, the bike's owner pulled out a knife and slashed one of the suspects on the arm.

The five suspects were all detained and arrests were made. (Update, 1:49pm: SPFD spokesperson Giselle Linnane told us that they were only detained pending further investigation.) The suspect who was wounded suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with "SFPD" in the message.
