Man Killed In Sunday Night Tenderloin Shooting [Updated]Leavenworth and Ellis Streets | Photo: Google

Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place in the Tenderloin shortly after midnight on Sunday.

At 12:40am, officers encountered a 38-year-old male victim at the corner of Leavenworth and Ellis streets who was suffering from a gunshot wound. [Update: 1:45pm] The victim has been identified as San Francisco resident Levar Watkins.

Although the man was transported to a hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival. No arrests were made in the case, and no suspect description has been released.

According to a tipster who contacted Hoodline, a "shooter(s) in a black sedan fired on van with three occupants, injuring one in [the] leg and another fatally." Although police reportedly reviewed security footage, "the shooter’s car was pretty blurry. Crappy cameras at night."
