Three people were rescued after a two-alarm fire broke out this morning at the Parkmerced complex near San Francisco State. An orange cat is also missing.

Firefighters arrived at the site of a 13-story building at 125 Cambon Drive at 5:36am.

The fire broke out on the seventh floor of the building. SFFD evacuated the sixth, seventh and eighth floors, while the rest of the building was ordered to shelter in place, Bay City News reported.

By 7:24am, the fire was under control. Two people were injured, one critically, and were taken to a nearby hospital. A third victim did not require medical attention.

SFFD said that several people were displaced as well, but at this time, it was unclear how many people were affected. The Red Cross also responded to the scene.
