Six people were robbed and a man was shot in separate incidents in the Bayview over the weekend.

On Saturday, September 9 at 6:05am, an unknown assailant shot a 36-year-old man on the unit block of Bertha Lane. The victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, and no arrests were made. At the time of this writing, the victim is still in the hospital, but there’s no update on his condition.

That night, at 10:51pm near the intersection of Loomis and Oakdale, six people—three women aged 31, 40 and 41, and three men aged 37, 40 and 44—were sitting in a parked car when two suspects approached the vehicle from either side “with guns drawn on the front passengers.”

One suspect used his gun to break the front passenger window, striking a man who was seated there. A third armed suspect appeared and approached the rear passenger door as the car’s occupants handed over wallets and purses containing drivers’ licenses and credit and debit cards.

All three suspects fled westbound on Oakdale Street in a dark vehicle of unknown manufacture.

Anyone who has information about either of these incidents is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.

Here’s why we usually don’t include suspect descriptions in crime reports.
