New Japanese Spot 'DonFeva' Debuts In Potrero HillPhoto: DonFeva/Yelp

Looking to chow down on some Japanese fare? A new spot has you covered. The newcomer to Potrero Hill, called DonFeva, is located at 1760 Cesar Chavez St. (between Mississippi St & Missouri St).

Open since late August, the new spot brings donburi—Japanese-style rice bowls—to an industrial stretch of the neighborhood. Dishes include beef or chicken teriyaki, unadon (grilled eel fillet), and oyakodon  (diced chicken, egg, and onions) served over rice, with miso soup and salad. Sides like gyoza, wakame salad, edamame and tonkotsu are available a la carte as well. (Check out the full menu here.)

With a takeout and delivery format, don't expect to dine in: you can pick up your order at DonFeva, or order online (with free delivery for orders over $30).

The fresh arrival has proven popular thus far, with a five-star rating out of two reviews on Yelp.

Yuan W., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on August 29th, said: "Randomly heard about this place and finally got around to placing an order. The process was pretty easy. I ordered a gyudon (beef) and it was really tasty."

Yelper Johnny H. added: “First time trying this place. I got the Katsudon and I was extremely satisfy with it. Very delicious! Would definitely eat it again for lunch.”

Interested? Stop by to welcome the new business to the neighborhood. DonFeva is taking orders Monday–Thursday from 11am–11pm, Friday and Saturday from 11am–2am, and Sunday from 5am–11pm.
