[Update: 4:28pm] Bay City News has reported that two people were detained after a shooting took place shortly before 3pm this afternoon on the 1000 block of Market Street. According to SFPD spokeswoman Officer Grace Gatpandan, both suspects are being questioned by police.
No one was injured in the shooting, which led officials to close an entire block of the city’s main thoroughfare for slightly more than an hour.
According to Karen Sowa, whose office overlooks the intersection at Market & 6th, one of her co-workers told her “he heard something that sounded like gunshots” before building occupants were informed “that there was police activity outside the building and we should refrain from going outside.”
