SFPD is asking the public for their help in locating the suspects who shot and killed an Oakland man in SoMa this past summer.
On June 18th, officers responded to a shooting on the 1500 block of Folsom Street (between 11th and 12th streets) at approximately 2am. They found 31-year-old Oakland resident Carlo Tateo, a high school teacher, lying on the sidewalk and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
According to investigators, Tateo was standing outside of Holy Cow—a nightclub on 11th and Folsom streets—with a group of friends when the three suspects approached them.
Two suspects began harassing Tateo's female friends. When he intervened, one suspect pulled out a gun and shot him.
Tateo was transported to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Following what SFPD officials called a "senseless" murder, the three suspects fled in an unknown direction, in a vehicle that has not yet been identified.
Homicide investigators released a surveillance video with three persons of interest at the location where Tateo was killed.
One suspect is a black male with a beard with a multi-design jacket and a watch cap. The second person of interest is a black male with dreadlocks, wearing a long sleeve shirt and a dark baseball cap.
The last person of interest is a black female with short dark hair, wearing a darker shirt and a light undershirt.
Anyone recognizing the persons of interest or has information regarding this investigation is asked to call the SFPD Tip Line at (415) 575-4444 or Text a TIP to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD. You may remain anonymous.
