Looking for a new bar to check out? Look no further than this new arrival. The fresh addition to the Inner Richmond, called Natives Bar, is located at 5320 Geary Blvd. (between 18th Ave. & 17th Ave.)

Natives is taking over for the former McKenzie's Bar, after receiving a thorough renovation under a new owner, 27-year-old Norman Louie (who's a graduate of nearby Washington High). As we reported back in April, additions include new flooring, bigger bathrooms, four flatscreen TVs, and a lounge area with a fireplace. There's a backlit bar and a mural of the Golden Gate Bridge as well.

The drink menu features 10 specialty cocktails, named for local neighborhoods and landmarks, and a 10-tap rotating beer list, which Natives hopes to source from local brewers as often as possible.

Back in the spring, Louie told us he may also partner with neighboring teppanyaki spot Super Pan to serve portable hot plates to hungry drinkers.

The new bar has already attracted fans thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of 11 reviews on Yelp.

Penelope P., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 10th, said: "Awesome neighborhood gem! It's newly remodeled and has a modern/rustic feel to the place. The bartenders are really nice and is just a welcoming atmosphere."

And Nelson C. said: "Newly remodeled and looks great. Very modern and classy. Great list of cocktails that represent our city. The Fillmore is great!"

Intrigued? Stop in to try it for yourself. Natives Bar is open daily from 1pm–2am.
