Despite a posted transfer of ownership at Real Food Fresh Organics (1032 Stanyan St. at Carl) for the store's liquor license, employees at the Cole Valley natural foods store said today that business will continue as usual.

Founded in 1969 and originally part of a family of stores that includes Polk Street's Real Food Company and the now-closed Union St. store of the same name, the shop is owned by the same company as the Outer Richmond's Thom's Fresh Organics.

An employee confirmed today that the license transfer is simply to bring legal paperwork into line with changes affected by the change of the store's holding company—formerly Fresh Organics Inc., and currently Granola's Market, Inc.

In both cases, the business's main stockholder is Nutraceutical Corporation, a Park City, UT-based group that was bought out by an equity firm earlier this year. In a diverting footnote, the equity firm—HGGC—is founded, owned and managed by ex-49er Steve Young.

Employees reiterated that no big changes are on the horizon yet; we'll keep you posted with any changes.
