A new breakfast and brunch spot, offering coffee, tea and more, has opened its doors in the neighborhood. Called Cafe Marbella, the new arrival is located at 1409 Sutter St. (between Gough St & Franklin St) in the Western Addition.

This new spot—located inside the Payne Mansion Hotel—is serving up an array of breakfast and brunch items, as well as specialty coffees and teas. 

On the menu, expect to see items like omelettes, French toast, a continental and Western breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, and more. 

There's also a rotating specials menu, featuring items like spicy rice with eggs and "Diablo" sauce on the side, and waffles with mixed fruit.

Rounding things out are a variety of espresso drinks, like lattes and mochas, and cold drinks like fresh-squeezed juices, iced teas and more. 

With a 4.5-star rating out of 19 reviews on Yelp so far, Cafe Marbella is on its way to developing a local fan base.

Rachel V., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on September 26th, said: "Went on a Sunday with several friends. As we walked in, we were greeted by a man who later turned out to be the owner. Our group was accommodated to quickly in a nice intimate area to the back."

Yelper Zeke R. added: “Came here on Sunday afternoon with a group of young church leaders. I had the burger from the 'specials' menu, and it was delicious. The patty was cooked perfectly by Chef Jacqueline, and big props to the chef!”

And Mary R. said: "I had the Sunday Special: salmon with green beans on a bed of salad with ginger-lime dressing. The portion was very generous! Delicious choice! Great company and pleasant vibe!"
