One person was injured this morning in a fire at 1556 Noriega St., the San Francisco Fire Department has reported.

When Engine Company 18 responded to the scene at 9:13am, five minutes after receiving the call, firefighters entered the two-story structure and determined that the blaze was on the first floor in the rear of the building, which is home to New Hing Lung Restaurant.

Eventually, fire spread to the building’s attic and an adjoining structure, but it was placed under control at 9:48am.

All tenants evacuated themselves or were assisted out of the building, but one adult was transported to a hospital with “burns which are not life-threatening,” SFFD reported.

At this time, it’s unknown whether any residents or businesses were displaced, but SFFD said city agencies “are standing by to assist those involved.” The cause of the fire is under investigation.
