There's a brand-new coffeeshop in town. Called Workshop Café, the fresh arrival is located at 25 Spear St. (between Market St & Mission St) in SoMa.
This new co-working spot and café—which has another location at 180 Montgomery St. in the FiDi—features food and drinks, as well as rentable workspace, meeting rooms, and event space. Worker bees can rent a deskside seat (with or without a monitor) for $3/hour, or a small private room with a whiteboard for $7/hour. Rooms for teams of two or more are also available, and every space has outlets and high-speed wifi.
To fuel productivity, there's a full menu of food and drink as well. On the breakfast menu, expect to see items like blueberry muffin oatmeal with pecan streusel and house-made date milk and the "Flower Child Bagel" with charred green onion schmear, arugula, avocado, watermelon radish, and pickled onion.
Switching over to lunch, look for sandwiches and wraps like the chipotle citrus chicken sandwich with spicy citrus slaw, cheddar, pickled onions, and green goddess aioli; and a curry quinoa wrap with kale, roasted sweet potatoes, cucumber, chickpeas, and spinach.

With a 4.5-star rating out of three reviews on Yelp so far, the newcomer is on its way to developing a local fan base.
Jay P., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on October 30th, said: "Cute café with a great workspace vibe—definitely will explore further, since it's so centrally located."
Yelper Dingding Sherry W. added: “Second Workshop Café, located near Ferry Building. It's shiny inside and decorated with green plants, and there are various kinds of working spaces to suit everyone's needs. Pretty full on the first day.”
And Alison P. said: "Wow. What a beautiful space to work. Centrally located, comfortable, convenient, with all the amenities I need. The staff is helpful, and the courtyard makes a lovely backdrop."
