Time for another look at crime in SFPD's Central District, which includes Chinatown, Financial District, Embarcadero, Russian, Telegraph and Nob Hills, North Beach, and Union Square.
Here are some of the incidents that have taken place since our last biweekly report. Unless otherwise noted, all reports are drawn from SFPD's summary.
Man robbed at gunpoint
A robbery occurred on the 700 block of Bush Street in Lower Nob Hill on November 1st at 1am.
A 28-year-old male suspect pointed a handgun at a 36-year-old man and demanded cash. The victim complied and the suspect fled on foot.
Business owner attacked and robbed while closing shop
On October 31st at 10:30pm on the 900 block of Grant Avenue in Chinatown, a 47-year-old man was robbed while locking up his business.
Three males in their late teens approached the proprietor from behind and took his computer bag and keys. One of the suspects then struck the victim and the three absconded on foot in an unknown direction. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries but was not transported for treatment.
Three teens attack and attempt to rob victim at coffeeshop
On the 600 block of Beach Street in Fisherman's Wharf on October 30th at 3pm, a 25-year-old man was robbed.
The victim was sitting in a coffee shop working on his laptop when three male teens punched him, took his computer, and then ran away. The victim chased after the suspects who then dropped the laptop and continued to flee the scene.
No injuries were reported and no arrests have been made in the incident.
Hot prowl burglar breaks building door in half
On the 900 block of Post Street in Lower Nob Hill at 6:43am October 29th, a hot prowl burglary occurred.
A 43-year-old man woke up to noise in his alleyway and then later in the building's lobby. He headed to his front door and a 27-year-old man slammed through the door, causing it to break in half. The victim spoke to the suspect briefly who then fled the building.
Officers later located the individual and took him into custody.
Two suspects rob FiDi store
On October 29th at 10:32pm on the 100 block of Pine Street, another robbery occurred.
Two suspects in their early 20s, a man and a woman, entered a store and walked behind the counter. They ordered the employee, a 26-year-old man, "not to say anything" and then took multiple items. Both suspects then absconded on foot with cash and grocery items in tow.
Three victims attacked and robbed in early morning
A robbery occurred on the 600 block of Market Street on October 29th just before 2am.
Three unknown suspects in their 20s, one man and two women, approached a 22-year-old woman and a 21 and 23-year-old man and began punching them. The suspects then stole the woman's cell phone and fled the scene in an unknown direction.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Suspect arrested for assault after argument escalates
An assault occurred on October 27th at 4am on the 1500 block of Clay Street in Nob Hill.
A 30-year-old man met up with a 31-year-old woman and the pair began arguing. The man then hit the woman several times, causing injury. Police arrived and took the suspect into custody, and the victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Man stabbed by unknown suspect
A 28-year-old man was stabbed on October 27th at 9:15pm near the Stockton Tunnel at Stockton and Sutter Streets.
An unknown suspect approached the victim "aggressively with a sharp object" and then stabbed him before fleeing the scene southbound on Stockton Street on foot.
The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No arrest has been made in the incident.
Private driver robs fare at knifepoint
On October 25th at 2:10am on the unit block of Drumm Street, a 28-year-old man was robbed at knifepoint by an private driver.
The suspect, a man in his early 40s, drove the victim into San Francisco and when they arrived at their destination, he demanded cash. The two got into an argument over the deal and the suspect pulled out a knife. The victim then handed over cash "in fear of violence."
Victim lured into alley by suspects and robbed
A 32-year-old man was robbed at Anchorage Alley in Fisherman's Wharf on October 24th just before 2am.
The victim was lured by an unknown female suspect into the alley. An unknown male suspect then approached from behind and punched the victim. Two other unknown male suspects then rummaged through the victim's pockets, taking his cell phone, money clip, and credit cards before all four fled the scene on foot.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
