Your weekend lasts just 48 hours, but we're here to help you maximize your bliss.

Queen Esther Marrow, a jazz, soul and gospel performer discovered by Duke Ellington, is in concert at Piedmont Piano Company on Friday evening.

Marrow, who has performed on Broadway, for multiple presidents, and has toured internationally for decades, will be joined by the Tammy Hall Trio: Aneesa Strings on bass, Ruth Price on drums, "and her musical director and colleague Tammy Hall on piano."

Also this weekend, Savage Jazz Dance Company performs Sketches of Oakland at Malonga Casquelourd Center for the Arts

The work captures the "same intensity, creativity and diversity of life experiences that only a city like Oakland can provide," according to the dance company.

Get out and about with The Ol' Uptown Throwdown (Live Piano) w/ Graham Richards at Legionnaire Saloon, a Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland talent show fundraiser, or catch Bridesmaids at The New Parkway for some uncomfortable laughs.

Here's a list of other events happening around over the next few days:

Friday, November 17

Saturday, November 18
