Holiday travelers are hitting the freeways, and Oakland International Airport has seen an 8% increase in activity compared to last year, but if you're planning to stick around for Thanksgiving weekend, we've got some suggestions.

The inaugural 5K Oakland Turkey Trot starts tomorrow morning at 8:30 outside the Lakeside library (550 El Embarcadero); proceeds will benefit Alameda County Community Food Bank.

On Friday and Saturday, attend the 8th Annual Small Art Show at Warehouse 416 (416 26th St.), which spotlights a wide range of local artists. All weekend, support local merchants by shopping locally during Plaid Friday Weekend.

On Sunday, the Sookland 2nd Annual Adult Prom gives attendees a chance to relive their most romantic night of high school—while making different choices that better reflect their authentic selves. Formal attire required.

Here's a list of other events happening around over the next few days:

Thursday, November 23

Friday, November 24

Saturday, November 25

Sunday, November 26
