The holiday season's first retail addition to the Upper Haight is the new Silver Sprocket storefront, which opens for business this week at 1685 Haight St. (between Cole and Belvedere).

A collective based in San Francisco "out of a bedroom and a basement," Silver Sprocket "is an art crew, comic and zine publisher, record label, and collection of budz making things," according to its website. They feature zines, comics, stickers, pins, patches, and other related odds and ends.

Until now, Silver Sprocket has limited its sales to an store and the Comic-Con circuit, but its new storefront is the former LTD gallery, which closed in September to consolidate into a single location.

And while we haven't been able to confirm whether the lease is short or long-term, it looks like the shop will at least be around for the holidays.
