Two people inside a car were shot in the Dogpatch neighborhood last night, with one victim suffering life-threatening injuries, police have reported.

The incident occurred at 8:24pm on the 1000 block of 22nd Street between Minnesota and Indiana streets when a 39-year-old male driver and his 20-year-old passenger "heard several loud 'pops'" and realized that he and his companion had been shot, according to SFPD.

Neither victim reported seeing the shooter; both men were transported to a hospital for treatment, but the driver was critically injured and there is no word on his condition at this time.

Anyone who has information about this incident is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.
