The illy caffè at 2349 Market St. (between Noe and Castro) is back, this time as a holiday pop-up. According to illy communications director Adam Paige, it will open on Wednesday.

"illy is planning to reopen as a retail product-only shop," Paige told Hoodline. "it will be a test 'pop-up' scheduled as of now, to open during the holidays selling popular items including illy in-home espresso and coffee machines."

Along with selling espresso and coffee machines, the shop will also carry illy's full line of single-serve and single-origin coffee. Holiday gift boxes with tea from Dammann Frères and fine chocolates from Domori will also be available.

After the holiday season, illy has yet to determine what its plans are for the space. A closing date has not been determined. "We're keeping our options open," said Paige.

However, Paige did say that "it will likely stay as retail only versus reverting back to a full café." As we reported earlier, the café closed in June.

Hours will be Wednesday through Friday, noon-6pm, Saturday-Sunday, 11am-6pm, and closed Monday and Tuesday.
