Time for another look at crime in SFPD's Central District, which includes Chinatown, Financial District, Embarcadero, Russian, Telegraph and Nob Hills, North Beach, and Union Square.

Central Station announced its next community meeting will be held on December 21, 5-6pm at Cathay Post 1524 Powell St. 

Here are some of the incidents that have taken place since our last biweekly report. Unless otherwise noted, all reports are drawn from SFPD's summary.

Altercation leads to suspect arrest

On December 1st at 1:35am on the 200 block of Kearny Street, in North Beach, a 30-year-old man assaulted a 26-year-old man. The victim was taken to a  hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Police later located the suspect and took him into custody. 

Two men robbed at gunpoint

On November 30th, just after 10pm, a robbery occurred on the 800 block of Union Street in North Beach. 

A male suspect in his 30s approached a 30-year-old man and a 32-year-old man, and demanded they hand over their property. The suspect then brandished a handgun and the victims handed over their cellphones. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. No arrests were made.

Two men snag keys and phone from pedestrian

A 33-year-old man was robbed on Kearny Street and Maiden Lane in Union Square on November 30th around 10pm. 

Two male suspects, both in their mid-to late 20s, approached the victim from behind. One of the suspects stole his cell phone, while the second suspect took the victim's keys. Both then absconded in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported in the incident and no arrests were made. 

Man assaulted and robbed while walking

A 27-year-old man was assaulted and robbed on November 26th at 12:20am near the corner of Union and Leavenworth Streets in Russian Hill. 

Four unknown male suspects approached the victim, attacked him and then snatched his cell phone. The suspects then fled the scene on foot. 

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. 

Three suspects send victim to hospital after assault

An assault occurred November 25th at 3:39pm, on the 100 block of Jefferson Street in Fisherman's Wharf. 

Three male suspects between the ages of 20-25 called out to two victims, a man, 21, and a woman, 20. The man yelled at the suspects, before all three attacked him. One of the suspects punched the woman, but it was not clear if she was injured. 

The male victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. No arrests were made in the incident. 

Senior citizen robbed by woman after opening his door

On November 24th at 8:30pm, on the 1000 block of Sutter Street in Lower Nob Hill, a woman in her 20s robbed a 78-year-old man.

According to police, the suspect banged on the victim's door. When he opened it, she grabbed his wallet containing cash, a debit card, and identification. After a brief struggle, the victim fell to the ground and the suspect fled the area in an unknown direction. 

No injuries were reported in the incident. No arrest was made. 

Two burglary suspects caught in the act

Two suspects were arrested for burglary on November 23rd at 6:21am on the 2500 block of Taylor Street in Fisherman's Wharf. 

Police units responded to an alarm call and observed two men, 48 and 51, exiting the store through a broken window. The two suspects were taken into custody and various items were reported missing from the business. 

Suspects steal bag from car at gunpoint

Another robbery occurred November 22nd at 10:19pm on the 800 block of Beach Street near Fisherman's Wharf. 

A 24-year-old man noticed three suspects breaking into his car and confronted them. One suspect then brandished a handgun, stole the victim's backpack, and then fled the scene in an unknown vehicle. The victim was not injured. No further description was available, and no arrest has been made.
