New Wine Bar 'Côté Est' Now Open In Highland ParkPhoto: punn w./Yelp

A new wine bar and French spot has opened for business in the neighborhood. The new arrival to Highland Park, called Côté Est, is located at 5022 York Blvd.

This new bistro comes from restaurateurs Claudio and Adria Blotta (barbrix, Market Provisions). Executive chef Alex Ageneau (Sinatra Restaurant, Aestus, Petrossian) helms the kitchen.

The menu changes daily, so guests are urged to check the website often to see what's on offer. Diners can expect to see dishes like fried skate wing with sauce Gribiche, cauliflower, almonds and raisins; duck confit with lentils, mustard greens and red cabbage; and steak frites with Kennebec fries, choron butter and espelette aïoli.

For desserts, look for items like coconut rice pudding with pineapple, saffron, and pomegranate; and "Le Chocolat" with mousse, ganache, white chocolate crunch, huckleberry, and kumquat.

There is an extensive wine list, and brunch is served on weekends. (You can check out the full menu here.)

With a 4.5-star rating out of 14 reviews on Yelp so far, the spot seems to be a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Richard K., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on December 4th, said: "Claudio and Adria do it again! Côté Est is a lovely new restaurant in Highland Park. Tremendous space and delicious food."

Yelper B E. added: “This place is delicious. Everything we ordered was excellent (mussels, escargot, baguette, smoked trout salad, and rice pudding)."

And Cindy L. said: "Côté Est is a pleasant reinvention of this space in Highland Park, serving French bistro-style food with a well-stocked bar and wine selection. The best way I can describe the food is French with an Angeleno twist."

Head on over to check it out: Côté Est is open Friday and Saturday from 5pm–midnight, and Sunday–Thursday from 5pm–11pm.
