Oakland Weekend: Giggle Bells, OMCA Urban Gardening Exhibition, Live Music, More

There's no denying that we are in the thick of the holiday season, but if shopping and twinkling lights aren't your thing, don't be a Grinch—Oakland offers a wide range of options.

On Saturday night, All Out Comedy Theater celebrates the season by hosting Giggle Bells, its holiday-themed improv show.

Take Root: Oakland Grows Food is a new exhibition at Oakland Museum of California that "explores the many aspects of Oakland's food communities and what factors determine where, how, why, and what is grown by residents throughout the city."

Fox Theater and Uptown Nightclub are staging live musical performances tonight and tomorrow, and feline fans who like to laugh are encouraged to attend Cat People, a comedy show at the Layover Bar & Lounge.

Here's a look at other events happening around Oakland over the next few days:

Thursday, December 14

Friday, December 15

Saturday, December 16

Sunday, December 17
