Score Bubble Tea, Egg Waffles And More At Sharpstown's New 'Bubble Egg'Photo: Margaret T./Yelp

A new spot to score bubble tea, waffles and ice cream has made its debut in the neighborhood. The fresh arrival to Sharpstown, called Bubble Egg, is located at 9188 Bellaire Blvd.

Specializing in Hong Kong-style bubble waffles, flavored teas, and ice cream, features an array of signature sweets, as well as build-your-own options.

On the menu, look for drinks like alcohol-free "mocktails" with lemon and mint, strawberry and mint, and grapefruit and cucumber; green teas with mango, strawberry, and passion fruit; and lychee, lemon, and peach black teas. You can also top off any tea with ice cream, boba, aloe vera, or coconut jelly.

Switching over to the bubble waffle menu, expect to see options like the "Go Bananas," with banana, pecans, and caramel sauce, and the "Bubble Oreo," with rainbow mochi and condensed milk. You can create your own waffle by starting with a base flavor (original, matcha, or chocolate), then adding a scoop of ice cream (flavors include green tea, red bean, or banana pudding), and topping it all off with fresh fruit, nuts, or candy.

With a four-star rating out of seven reviews on Yelp so far, Bubble Egg has gotten a good response.

Yan X., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on December 9th, said: "I like this place. Waffle is good and ice cream is comfortably sweet. Just a little bit pricey. Still good."

Yelper Tommy T. added: “Egg waffles look to be the next big craze going around Chinatown right now. Walking in, you'll immediately be mesmerized by the aroma of all the egg waffles. It honestly smells amazing!"

And Husna A. said: "So good! Haven't had this since we were in Hong Kong a year ago. We ordered the original waffle with banana pudding ice cream, bananas and Nutella!"

Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Bubble Egg is open Monday–Thursday from 2pm–10pm, Friday and Saturday from noon–11pm, and Sunday from noon–10pm.
