Police responded to three gun-related incidents last night; in separate cases, two people were wounded by gunfire.

In the first incident, reported at 7:56pm, a 36-year-old man called police after hearing gunfire and seeing an undescribed vehicle speed away from the intersection at 25th and Shotwell streets.

Gunfire was reported at 25th & Shotwell at 7:56pm.

No injuries or property damage were reported, and the suspect reportedly used a handgun.

At 9:44pm, police were dispatched to 22nd & Shotwell after a 26-year-old man who was walking on the sidewalk was shot by an unknown suspect who was in a moving vehicle.

The victim, who was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, told police that he was heard a loud pop and “saw a vehicle leave the scene at a high rate of speed” before he realized that he’d been wounded.

In a third incident, officers near the corner of 22nd and Mission streets heard gunfire at 1:10am, and observed 2 male suspects in their twenties fleeing the area in an undescribed vehicle.

A 22-year-old female bystander suffered non-life-threatening wounds and was taken to a hospital.

Anyone who has information about either of these incidents is encouraged to contact SFPD via the department's anonymous tip line at 415-575-4444, or text TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.

Here’s why we usually don’t include suspect descriptions in crime reports.
