If you're the sort of person who prefers to stay indoors on gloomy weekends, stop reading here.

To the fun-seekers who stayed with us—let's dive in.

Tonight, meet Kate Webber, director of a documentary about a woman who attempted to swim 30 miles in the Bay's shark-infested waters, then grab some free swag at an official premiere party for season 3 of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars in the Castro.

Keep the momentum going tomorrow by celebrating Australia Day with a pint or two in SoMa, a circus-themed cabaret in Cole Valley, or the whimsical sights and sounds of the 18th Annual Edwardian Ball at The Regency Center.

On Saturday, pet some contestants at the Golden Gate Kennel Club dog show, get an early start on Valentine's Day shopping at this month's Treasure Island Flea Market, or learn more about night and all-weather biking at a free workshop in the Outer Richmond.

Next Tuesday, pianists Daniil Trifonov and Sergei Babayan perform in recital at the San Francisco Symphony in a program that includes music by Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Schumann and Arvo Pärt.

Trifonov, a 26-year-old Russian once described as "the most astounding pianist of our age," has already released 10 albums showcasing his talents, which include classical works and his own concertos.

Babayan, who emigrated to the US from Armenia, is as well known for his interpretation of romantic composers like Rachmaninoff as he is for modern pieces, such as Arvo Pärt's Pari intervallo, which is on Tuesday's program.

The duo will perform 5 pieces at Davies Symphony Hall on January 27th at 8pm, including Mozart's bright and elegant Piano Sonata in D major for Two Pianos, and Arvo Pärt's minimalist composition, which evokes darker tones.
