A woman suffered life-threatening injuries last Friday morning in Nob Hill after an assailant struck her in the head with a skateboard, police have reported.

The incident occurred on December 29 around 6am near the intersection of Jackson and Mason streets when a 28-year-old woman hit the victim, also 28, with the skateboard.

The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment; when reached for comment, police said they have not yet made an arrest in the case. It's unclear whether the women were acquainted and police did not indicate what motivated the attack.
