San Jose Man Arrested After Allegedly Stabbing His Own Mother to Death Earlier this WeekSource: San Jose Police Department

In a harrowing tale of potential matricide, a San Jose man, Amanueal Germay, has been arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing his own mother in their shared home on June 30th of this year, which adds to the city's tally of 18 homicides so far, according to San Jose Police Department.

Police responded to a call on the morning of June 30th at around 7:55 AM, and upon arriving at the scene in the 200 block of S. 14th Street, officers discovered an adult female with at least one stab wound in the residence, and tragically she was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported on CBS News.

The victim's identity has not been released, but will be disclosed by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after next of kin have been notified, a heartbreaking agenda to be sure, but necessary nonetheless in the face of such a tragedy.

While at the scene, officers contacted Germay, who is the victim's son, and based on preliminary investigation, he was taken into custody on suspicion of his mother's homicide, now ongoing efforts are being made to ascertain the motive and circumstances surrounding this distressing incident, as another CBS News article suggests.

The 42-year-old suspect, Amanueal Germay, has been booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for homicide, with jail records showing that he is currently being held without bail, and he is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, July 5th, and all of this begs the question: what could possibly motivate someone to commit such an act against their own family member, their own mother at that?

But now is not the time for speculation, now is the time for answers, and the San Jose Police Department urges anyone with information about this case to come forward and contact Detective Sergeant Martinez or Detective Valosek of the homicide unit via email or phone at 408-277-5283 to help shine light on this inexplicable and reprehensible act.

Members of the public can also submit crime tips and remain anonymous, which could be a crucial aspect for some individuals in coming forward, by using the P3TIPS mobile app, calling the tip line at (408) 947-STOP, or visiting the Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers website for those who desire to submit tips on any crime but may have a certain fear of retaliation or exposure, which is yet another poignant reminder of the violence that can sometimes permeate our society and the importance of responsible citizens working together with law enforcement to try and deter this senseless violence.
